Hike 10: Mary S. Young Park (West Linn, OR)

Another little in-town hike in a woodsy park near the Willamette River. I love it here.

This area used to be old growth forest, and it was heavily logged in the mid to late 1800s. Every once in a while I’ll come across a huge Douglas Fir when hiking here (check out the tree on the left of the photo below). I wonder if maybe there were a few left standing back then… I like to put my hand on the trunk and say, “How old are you?”
