It’s October, bring on the SOUP! Anyone else go a little bit crazy happy about soup this time of year? My new favorite to make is Tomato Lentil. I’ve also created a soup that is a blend of minestrone and chili, we call it Chilestrone. Happy to share recipes!
Okay, okay, I know this is a music message, not a soup show. Some fun things to share with you this month…
“Noel (with choir)” studio recording releasing Oct. 17, 2025!
The remixed recording of “Noel,” featuring SATB choir in addition to the original piano, solo vocal, and violin, will be streaming on all platforms starting October 17, 2025. I’m so excited to share this version more widely with the world. Huge thanks to Erick Lichte for conducting the choir, and to all the singers from the Oregon Repertory Singers who joined us in the recording studio that day.
Preview/purchase the score and listen to both the studio and live recordings HERE - it’s available for you to perform this arrangement with your own ensemble!
Commission Consortium Opportunity
Coming in 2026: I’m launching a Commission Consortium to complete a large-scale SATB choral work celebrating all of the Solstices and Equinoxes!
If you're interested in learning more or joining the consortium with your choir, I'd love to hear from you.
In the meantime, take a listen to “Winter Solstice” for a sonic preview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQcxbpoilaY
Just FYI, a commission consortium is a group of multiple choirs who pool financial resources to fund the creation of a new work. This model makes it more affordable for everyone involved to commission a new work than if they were to do so alone. In return for their financial contribution, consortium members receive rights to be among the first to perform the new work and have their names listed in the score.

Sing For The Cure
On October 11, 2025, the Oregon Repertory Singers will present the Portland performance of Sing for the Cure, a powerful work commissioned 25 years ago by my dear friend Tim Seelig, pictured here.
I’m deeply honored to join them at the piano for this monumental event at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall.
This groundbreaking ten-movement work is dedicated to raising awareness about breast cancer and breast health. If your story includes any connection to our shared fight against cancer (and whose doesn’t?), you won’t want to miss it.
